Word for WordPLAY’s StoryPop! is a theatrical performance that brings children’s stories to life. Featuring a full cast of Word for Word actors, script in hand, and using the evocative style of Word for Word, the reading will give us our first theatrical exploration of the story. Similar to a story time, kids and their grown-ups alike will have the experience of seeing the story leap off the page and onto the stage! 

We are honored to be presenting the work of acclaimed author Dave Eggers. The Eyes and The Impossible is “a lyrical, soulful book full of wit and passion…a timeless story for readers of all ages.” It takes you to the inner world of Johannes, a free and fast dog — and his job as the “eyes” of an urban park by the sea. Join him in his trials and tribulations as the equilibrium of the park is upset by an influx of humans, construction, and goats.

This reading is a sneak preview of what will be a fully staged production, complete with sets, lighting, and costumes next Spring of 2026. Come and see the seeds being planted that will blossom next spring!
