Award-winning Bay Area storytellers tell their 5-minute true stories on the theme: misunderstood.
StorySlam Oakland is the longest-running true storytelling show in Oakland. Now online via Zoom.
Our talented lineup features Bay Area storytellers who’ve won previous StorySlam Oakland competitions, as well as open-mic tellers from the audience.
Each will tell a 5-minute true, personal story on the theme: Misunderstood.
How it works: All ticket buyers will get a special invite to the Zoom meeting, sent out the day of the show. Do not share your secret Zoom link with anyone else.
Some of the stories will be from members of the audience. You’ll have a chance to “put your name in the hat” at the beginning of the event. Stories must be true, about you, and 5 minutes or less. (If you go beyond 6 minutes, you might get muted!)
We’ll recreate the camaraderie and community of a live show. It will be live only within the Zoom meeting. It won’t be streamed or broadcast anywhere else, just like a live show.
Thank you for supporting StorySlam Oakland – an independent, un-sponsored storytelling show, since 2012.
