StorySlam Oakland is a live and true storytelling show on a theme. This month’s theme is “Breakups”. Our show features selected storytellers plus open-mic stories from the audience. It’s also a friendly competition. The audience votes on the best open-mic story of the night. Stories can be funny, poignant, sad, mad – it doesn’t matter as long as they are true and about you.

How the Show Works:
Put your name in the hat for a chance to tell a true, personal story of your own on the theme. If you get chosen, you will have up to 5 minutes to tell your story. No notes or reading allowed! You will hear a bell at 5 minutes, indicating it’s time to end your story.

And at StorySlam Oakland, you win a free drink ticket just for telling a true story.
Not ready to tell? It’s fine to just listen.

Luka’s has a full bar and dinner (arrive early and order before 7 pm)

StorySlam is an all-ages show, but we are not about to tell the storytellers to watch their mouths.
Younger folks are welcome, but they may come home with some new knowledge and colorful language.

Tickets are refundable up to ONE day before the event.
Note: If we’re sold out online, you can still get tickets at the door for $10. (No discounts). SF Funcheap readers use discount code Cheapsters and get 50% off the online ticket price.
