Event Details

Join us virtually for a three part speaker series and in-depth conversations about serious mental illness; what it is, how it is treated, what its effect is on families and what could or should be different.
This is the third event of the three part series. We will be speaking with former Minnesota lawmaker Mindy Greiling, author of “Fix What You Can: Schizophrenia and a Lawmaker’s Fight for Her Son”. Greiling hopes her book will lead to systemic change across the country. She tells the story of trying to get care for her son Jim, diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder in his early twenties (he is now 43). She quickly discovered the gaps in the system, pushed for more mental health funding and helped found the nation’s first state bipartisan mental health caucus.
