On Wednesday, September 13 from 6:30pm-8:30pm at the Park Branch of the San Francisco Public Library at 1833 Page Street, Richie Unterberger will present “The Summer of Love in Cinema: San Francisco ’60s Rock in the Movies.

Featured will be cameo appearances by Bay Area groups in commercial features; scenes from B-movie exploitations of Haight-Ashbury like Psych-Out and Revolution; outtakes from the Monterey Pop and Woodstock documentaries; and rare clips from commercial and TV documentaries. Performances by stars like Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead, and Country Joe & the Fish will mix with clips of less celebrated local acts. A
