Sunday Assembly: Communty Sing & Meetup | Berkeley

Sunday Assembly is a non-religious congregation that celebrates life. They’ve got the best parts of a church – community, singing, and acts of service – without any of the religious dogma.

They typically meet on the third Sunday of the month to sing, think, listen, laugh, and build community together. They feature speakers from the local science and humanities communities, and they typically offer a way to donate to a local organization.

The Sunday Assembly is a godless congregation started in 2012 by two comedians and performers in England. It is a growing global network of people with the motto to “Live Better. Help Often. Wonder More.”

Speaker this month will be Rucker Alex

Rucker Alex is on the executive committee of the Sierra Club’s San Francisco Bay chapter of Inspiring Connections Outdoors (ICO). ICO is an all volunteer-run organization in its 48th year that partners with local schools and youth agencies to take low-income, urban youth on trips to explore and enjoy the outdoors. The leaders and volunteers host over 30 outings per year, including hiking, car camping, kayaking, snow camping and backpacking. Thanks to donations, the trips are free to the youth, agencies, and volunteers.
