The following 2-hour illustrated lecture is intended to provide the general public with basic scientific information to help understand current controversies regarding each topic. No previous knowledge of science or math is necessary.
“Fracking” is a process for removing natural gas and other fuels embedded in the Earth’s rocks by using water at very high pressure. This talk provides an overview of fracking—how it works, where it is taking place in California, its benefits and disbenefits.
