In The House on Harding Street by Susan Pick, when you’ve spent your life trying to escape one person’s influence, what do you do when you realize you’ve become exactly like them?

Years after fleeing her hometown and her father’s attempts to control her life, Madeline returns for his funeral. Being surrounded by reminders of the childhood she fought to leave behind makes her uncomfortable, but under the terms of her father’s will, she must work to be completely free of the house, her family, and her past.
