Join Tech & Tonic, Pulse’s second Tech Talk to learn about Pulse from the people who make it happen and talk shop.

Free, but RSVP is required.

You’ll begin with a guided absinthe and gin tasting from local distiller Raff Distillerie at 6:45pm, and presentations will begin at 7:15pm. There may be a fee for tasting, so bring a few bucks just in case.

The Pulse web app is built with a mixture of backbone.js/Django/YepNope.js. This talk will give an overview of our architecture and conventions for developing the app, as well as discuss some limitations in performance and how we’ve overcome them.

This tech talk will cover the architecture and implementation of our syncing service, from both app and server perspectives. We will go over real world considerations, including speed, efficiency, offline access and user interface decisions. We will provide specific best practices for iOS and Android apps as well.
