Celebrating the Tenderloin Times, a neighborhood newspaper, former editors, reporters, & photojournalists will reconvene via Zoom.

This Thursday, April 9th, the Tenderloin Museum hosts an online webinar. This event, TLM online—Tenderloin Times: Sharing Local News Across Time, looks at the Neighborhood Newspapers of San Francisco collection, the history of the Tenderloin’s newspaper from 1977–1994, community journalism, and newly digitized original photos used in the paper’s pages.

LisaRuth Elliott moderates, Former Tenderloin Times editors Rob Waters and Sara Colm share some of the stories of the Tenderloin from behind the scenes. Reporter Dennis Conkin includes insights about a lifetime in community journalism, and photographer Lance Woodruff reflects on photojournalism and his now role teaching history to youth. San Francisco History Center Historical Photograph Collection manager Christina Moretta showcases a selection of the newly digitized archive of black and white original photographs used for the publication.
