Channel your inner Tony Hawk with helipops and triple hardflips at the African American Art & Culture Complex, Tha Hood Games and San Francisco Parks & Recreation’s opening of a multimedia art exhibit called “That Hood Games: Kids. Community. Comrades.”
Skating will take center stage as they transform the parking lot into a skate park, complete with miniature skate obstacles and ramps, with displays featuring paintings, murals, photography and video from Tha Hood Games, which organizes artistic events to give inner-city youth a positive and creative platform to express themselves, all around.
Other activities include contests for both kids and professionals, live music and art, skateboard demos, local community vendors, prizes, give-a-ways and appearances by pro skaters Karl Watson and Nyjah Huston. So start off this skating exhibition right with spin outs, shove-its and your support of San Francisco youth art.
