Event Details

Thanksgiving is steeped in America’s history of genocide and theft. The weekend of frenzied consumerism that follows further contributes to issues of racism and classism in this country. Join us in a conversation exploring why reparations and a redistribution of funds for Black and Indigenous led organizations is necessary. We will discuss what it means to dismantle the systems of oppression America has been built on.

This panel is organized by Reclaim Collaborative, ESJ and Art of Citizenry with support from tonlé and Chloe Jackman Photography as part of the #ReclaimBlackFriday Redistribution Campaign.

Suggested contribution of $10. Your contribution will go towards paying panelists and collaborators who are working to build this campaign.

Reclaim Black Friday is a call to action for redistributing wealth to those who have suffered the most because of historic and continual exploitation in America. This November 27th – 30th, join Reclaim Collaborative in a campaign designed to redistribute a percentage of total sales from Black Friday weekend to Black and Indigenous owned environmental organizations.
