“The Crossing” SF’s New Huge Beer Garden: Grand Opening Weekend (Sept. 10-12)
It’s finally here! The Crossing at East Cut, a highly anticipated new community pop-up with food tucks, beer garden, entertainment, ground murals and recreation offerings, will officially open Friday, September 10, 2021 at the former Temporary Transbay Transit Terminal.
Please note we’ve had reports that the venue is still a work in progress and are still assembling many of the on-site elements
The block between Howard, Main, Folsom, and Beale Streets will temporarily host community activities and events beginning today, September 10, through mid-2023, when the development of affordable and market-rate housing is scheduled to begin on the site.

Map / Site LayoutComing Soon – An outdoor cinema, food & retail kiosks, fitness space, a community marketplace, dog space, and kids play areas will be added soon.
Tentatively, the site will operate starting at 6:00 am for fitness uses and 7:00 am for general uses until 10:00 pm on weekdays and 11:00 pm on weekends, with weekend cinema screenings extending to 12:00 am.
Opening Weekend

- Saturday, Sept. 11 – 11a-9p
- Sunday, Sept. 12 – 11a-8p
Eat/Drink
- Family-Friendly Beer Garden, – Pouring distinctive handmade cocktails, craft beers and tantalizing refreshments and providing non-alcoholic options to suit all tastes in our vibrant garden. We invite you to an accessible and interactive experience – Opens 3pm on Friday, open at noon on weekends
- Food trucks – Beyond the Border, Hongry Kong, Phat Thai, Sam’s Chowder Mobile, WoKitchen, Cochinita
Street Soccer USA Park
Two 50’x70′ soccer fields are open for league play, rentals, and drop-in play. Certain times will be open to the public for free play. There is a youth soccer tournament on September 11 from 11a-5:30p. See the schedule
Pickle-Ball Courts
Grab your friends and experience the craze that’s made Pickleball the fastest growing sport in the United States. Two temporary courts initially available on a first-come basis while three permanent courts are developed. Paddles and pickleballs available. Check-out the events section to learn when free tutorials will be provided

As part of Mayor Breed’s Downtown Recovery Plan, the temporary activation of the approximately 3.5-acre site in the Transbay neighborhood will help revitalize San Francisco’s downtown area and support the City’s economic recovery.

The Crossing provides opportunities for community members to gather outdoors and support local businesses safely. Today, September 10, the Crossing opens with a family-friendly beer garden, food trucks, soccer fields, and a ground mural in the easily accessible and freshly designed space.
ECLP, a partnership between the East Cut Community Benefit District, Street Soccer USA, Real Active, and Nestory Park, will ultimately offer fitness space, an outdoor cinema, food and retail kiosks, a community marketplace, play areas and flex space for events, classes, and other community-serving uses.
The Crossing allows local businesses to operate outdoors and provides a space that promotes community health and wellness and space for community members to gather safely in the Transbay neighborhood seven days a week.
