The Thirstbusters take the stage together again for one night only for the 15th-anniversary of their debut album!

Formed in 2008 during their Berkeley high school days, The Thirstbusters are known for blending pop-rock sensibilities with sophisticated musicality. From the jazz ensemble where it all began to recording their debut album, “Time You Awake,” and the whirlwind success of their hit single “So There,” The Thirstbusters’ journey has been one for the books. With appearances on the Disney Channel, the CW’s 90210, TNT, MTV, and Hallmark, The Thirstbusters have garnered fans worldwide.

Mark your calendars and join us at the Ivy Room on August 24th at 7 PM as we celebrate 15 years of music and memories with The Thirstbusters. It’s been a long time coming, but the wait is finally over.

Tansy is the brainchild of Will Feinberg and McKenna Alicia. Feinberg, a native of Detroit, and Alicia, a native of Oakland, met in New Orleans in 2017 where they began playing together in the city’s music scene. After a period of contributing to each other’s own original projects, they felt themselves being pulled together by their collaboration. McKenna and Will then decided to write and record a debut album, Full Bloom, which they released in April 2020.

Since releasing Full Bloom, Tansy has released three singles between 2021-2022, as well as an EP, Deep End, in 2023. They are currently working on recording their next album, set to start releasing in 2025. Though they have lived 2,000 miles apart since 2019, they have still continuously written and recorded music together, always trying to further explore and progress their sound, as well as playing shows in both LA and the Bay Area.

Influenced by the music of Esperanza Spalding, Robert Glasper Experiment, Moonchild, and Norah Jones; Tansy synthesizes the warmth of a classic RnB sound with the bold harmonic and melodic statements of today’s jazz. The end result is a nuanced sound that appeals to a wide variety of listeners while leading the way forward in contemporary vocal jazz.
