Toro y Moi, the stage name of Chazwick Bradley Bundick, is a celebrated chillwave producer known for his immersive, groove-heavy concerts. Born in 1986 in Columbia, SC, Bundick first gained attention with his 2010 debut album Causers of This, which led to opening spots for artists like Caribou and Phoenix. His 2013 album Anything in Return marked a major breakthrough, blending live instrumentation with sample-heavy production and earning him widespread praise. Toro y Moi’s 2015 album What For? further solidified his reputation, with a nationwide tour that showcased his atmospheric electro-funk and dance-friendly beats.
Chaz Bear is back again with a new Toro y Moi album, Hole Erth, set to release on September 6, 2024, is an eighth full-length studio record as Toro y Moi, is the genre shapeshifter’s most unexpected and bold move to date, with Bear diving headlong into rap-rock, Soundcloud rap and Y2K emo. The album blitzes anthemic pop-punk next to autotuned, melancholic rap – two genres that inform one another now more than ever before — and packs in the most features ever on a Toro y Moi album.
Adam Aminé Daniel, born on April 18, 1994, and known simply as Aminé, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He gained widespread recognition with his breakout single “Caroline,” which reached number 11 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Aminé released his first studio album, Good for You, on July 28, 2017, followed by his second album, Limbo, on August 7, 2020.
