Travel with Teddy Roosevelt’s Great White Fleet of sixteen battleships through the medium of colored postcards as the vessels cruised around the world in 1907-1909. We will talk about the development of postcards, the reason for this cruise, the political climate at the time, the animals aboard the ships, and some of the unexpected mishaps; while focusing on the Fleet’s visit to San Francisco.
