EVENT UPDATE – This event has been concelled. The costume contest is now submission based.
Trick-Or-Treat at The Chronicle and show-off your family’s crafty or Bay Area-themed costume. Columnist Heather Knight and Pop Culture Critic Peter Hartlaub are bringing back The Chronicle’s homemade costume contest.
Is your child dressing as a Muni bus or Sutro Tower? A family costume as the Painted Ladies or the Grateful Dead? A baby just learning to walk could be the leaning Millennium Tower. (Too soon?) Then this is the contest for you.
The best costumes will be awarded and featured in a future edition of the paper and on SFChronicle.com – with a $250 grand prize for the most Total SF costume and more prizes for participants. Families will receive free digital copies of the professional photos taken of their children after they’re published online.
The first 25 registered visitors to arrive at The Chronicle in homemade costumes get free passes to the Children’s Creativity Museum. This is a children’s costume contest, although themed family costumes with children and parents will be considered.
If you have photos of your families planned costume, please send in advance to PHartlaub@sfchronicle.com or HKnight@sfchronicle.com for reference. Deadline for entry is Oct. 26. Please include photos and a short story about your costume. Click here to register.
**The San Francisco Chronicle will take photographs at this event and use them in its promotional materials. By attending the event, you consent to be photographed and for your image to be used in such materials.
