Free Summer Symphony Orchestra Series at UC Berkeley | 2019

Join the UC Berkeley Summer Symphony this summer season on July 26 & 27, August 9 & 10, 2019 for a 4-day event will be happening at the Hertz Concert Hall on the UC Berkeley Campus.

Free admission, but donations are gracefully accepted.

The UC Berkeley Summer Symphony started in 1978 by Michael Senturia as a small chamber orchestra comprised of students from the university and members of the Berkeley community. Since then, it has grown into a full-sized orchestra, performing major works from the standard classical repertoire.

Currently, the UC Berkeley Summer Symphony draws its players from the University, Cal State East Bay, San Francisco Conservatory, and the Oakland and San Francisco Youth Orchestras.

Summer Symphony 2019

Repertoire:

-Bernstein – West Side Story

  • Friday, July 26th, 8 pm
  • Saturday, July 27th, 7 pm

Repertoire: 

-Brahms – Symphony No. 1
-Stravinsky – Suite from The Firebird
-Grieg – Selections from Peer Gynt Suite

  • Friday, August 9th, 8 pm
  • Saturday, August 10th, 8 pm
