Union Square’s Free Outdoor Movie Nights “Cinema on the Square” (2026)
Union Square’s free summer outdoor movie series returns for a second season this summer with five nights of films, pre-show entertainment, and downtown movie nights under the stars.
All screenings are free and take place in Union Square Plaza. Movies begin at sunset, with pre-show activities taking place two hours before sunset, including movie trivia, prizes, performances, popcorn (while supplies last), drinks from the bar (for purchase), and more. Presented in partnership with Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and Bank of America.
Please bring your own low chair or blanket, and warm layers! Very limited seating is available. Pets are required to be on leash. Plus, enjoy free daily programming at Union Square Plaza (333 Post Street). For more information, please check out our website: visitunionsquaresf.
