Students at Ruth Asawa School of the Arts will be staging and performing their annual musical. This year it is Urinetown: The Musical, a comedy musical that satirizes the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, and municipal politics. It is a wickedly funny, fast-paced, and surprisingly intelligent comedic romp. The show is a collaboration of virtually every department. Students design and make the sets and costumes, play the score, and of course, sing, dance, and act. It is inspiring to see this talented group of kids put on a show.
