Utopia Theatre Project kicks off their second season with Dêmos Krátos Theátro, an evening of short plays, music, and clowning that investigates democratic engagement and what it means to be a citizen. Four Bay Area playwrights explore what it means to be a citizen of a democracy, drawing inspiration from Ancient Greece, the birthplace of Democracy and Theatre. Their incisive works are joined by satirical music and movement performances.

Conceived by Artistic Director Maryssa Wanlass, Dêmos Krátos pulls together the talents of Bay Area Playwrights Cleavon Smith, Carol Lashof, Kenneth Heaton, and Lauren Mayer. They are joined by the live satirical music of singer-songwriter Lauren Mayer, and the clowning work of Amelia Adams.
