Valentine’s Date Night w/ 1950s-Style Carhop Service at Mel’s Drive-In

For an old-school socially distant romantic fun date night on Valentine’s Day (and every day, for that matter), Mel’s Drive-In in San Francisco is still offering its retro carhop service. Technically it’s “delivery” to your car, not outdoor dining.

The last time we went back in November they had a $9.99 burger, fries and coke deal – let’s hope they have the same deal.

Mel’s Drive-In, the quintessential 1950s-style American restaurant is going back in time for the sake of social-distancing. Just like old times, drive up, park the car, have a carhop server take your order, and enjoy it from the safety of your car. Listen to music, enjoy the neon, and just have fun. Mel’s Drive-in strives to keep the spirit of the classic American diner and home-style cooking alive and well. 

Which NorCal Mel’s Offer Carhop Service?

Mel’s is offering carhop service at two San Francisco locations

• Open: 3355 Geary Blvd (Inner Richmond at Parker Ave.) – Carhop available all day – 8a-9p (Mon-Thu), 8a-10p (Friday-Sun)
• 2165 Lombard St. (Marina Dist. at Steiner) – Carhop service all day – 8a-10p – Lombard location temporarily closed
