Update: All 100 slots for the Urban Challenge are now filled, however, you can still register and be put on the waiting list, because if teams drop out at the last minute, Verizon will fill up the empty spots on a first come, first served basis.
If that doesn’t work out, you can also still come out as a spectator and watch the race while playing Xbox games instead.
It’s a rat race through the fair city of San Francisco. A grueling test of head-to-toe and between-the-ears strength inspired by the Amazing Race, the Verizon Urban Challenge will be an unpredictable, multi-stage contest using the new HTC Trophy Windows Phone against 99 other teams for the honor of first place, a cash prize and, of course, new phones.
Spectators are also welcome, as there will also be
food trucks(sorry! due to permitting issues food trucks will not be at this event) and Xbox games for prizes, along with an awards ceremony for the winning teams at the end.
But in order to participate, your team must register in advance, so hurry to grab one of the 100 spots and spend the day running around San Francisco with a cell phone in hand.
