In this class, Chef Tu David Phu will dive into a short history of coffee in Vietnam. Then he’ll discuss Vietnamese coffee culture and how it’s evolved from the Vietnamese diaspora community to pop culture in the Americas.
Joining Chef Phu will be 2nd generation coffee producer, Luigi Di Ruocco of Mr. Espresso in Oakland. And together they’ll talk and make their favorite versions of Vietnamese Coffee; traditional Ca Phe Sua, Vietnamese Cold Brew, and Vietnamese Egg Coffee.
50% of all class sales are to be donated to the Oakland Asian Cultural Center. The closing of their space has placed a significant strain on their financial resources. OACC has an extensive history providing for thousands of Bay Area’s #APIA’s most vulnerable over the decades. We can’t afford to lose them.
