Enjoy the music and dance of the Danza Azteca Teokalli dancers at the San Francisco Main Library celebration of the Virgin of Guadalupe on Saturday, December 14, 2013.
San Francisco Poet Laureate Alejandro Murgía will tell the story of the Virgin of Guadalupe and her relation to the goddess Tonatzin. He will also be available to sign copies of his recent book A Little Piece of Mexico.
The Virgin of Guadalupe Festival is celebrated every year Dec. 9–12 throughout Mexico and commemorates when the humble Indian Juan Diego saw an apparition of the Virgin Mary.
