On July 17, artists Michele Seippel and Sugarlift take the virtual stage for the latest edition of Patch Pulse, our ongoing series of live audiovisual performances. Tune in for a special night of live experimentations pushing the boundaries of perception and sound.
A portion of the evening’s proceeds will benefit the Brave Space Alliance. Brave Space Alliance is the first Black-led, trans-led LGBTQ Center located on the South Side of Chicago, dedicated to creating and providing affirming, culturally competent, for-us by-us resources, programming, and services for LGBTQ individuals on the South and West sides of the city. in Chicago, Illinois.
Michele Seippel composes audiovisual performances where she layers perceptions of time and memory, through real time manipulation of personal media including voicemails, field recordings, processed images and videos.
Sugarlift is the experimental music project of Chicago-based sonic artist Katie Wood. Katie Wood creates soundscapes, videos, transmissions and live works featuring sounds of water and wind, howls, whispers, seismic vibrations, and radio interference. Their work deals with knowledge production around land and landscape.
