The nominations are in and, thanks to you readers who nominated us last week, FuncheapSF is up for the SFWeekly’s 2011 Web Awards for the category of “Best Events Website!”

There’s some great competition for this honor, but if you like all the free stuff we uncover for you each week, we hope you’ll give us your vote! Vote here by August 30th

Voting ends on August 30th, winners are announced September 2nd and there’s a big bash to honor the winners on September 9th at 111 Minna with free drinks!

The Competition:
There’s some great competition this year… The Squid List is an SF institution and has tons of great, quirky art and tech events, Happenstand has just about every art gallery exhibit in the whole city, and set your world wide web time machine for 1996 for the generically-named The List– a super low tech text-only site (seriously, it makes craigslist look modern) but has exhaustive concert listings from all over the Bay Area.

But we hope you like FuncheapSF best!
The site was started by unemployed fun-seeking San Franciscans who wanted to dig up and share as many free and cheap events in San Francisoc as possible. We spend tons of time curating our events lists each week – getting great input from you the readers – and hope that you appreciate our hard work! vote for us, pretty please
