“Walk It Shop It” Third Thursday Small Business Crawl (Crockett)

On Sep 19th, a small historic waterfront town is reinventing itself through community and independent retail. Every third Saturday in Crockett, visitors can walk from shop to shop meeting artists, designers, vintage dealers, makers, and guest vendors, all while collecting signatures for a store-wide raffle.

This month’s featured vendor at Monarch Store is Courtney Vacek.

From Benicia, Ca, Ms. Vacek’s a macramé artist and founder of the nonprofit Knot-By-Sight, Creative House. In 2013, Courtney was diagnosed with hereditary cone-rod dystrophy, a progressive retinal disease that causes continual vision loss and will eventually leave her completely blind. Knot-By-Sight was founded on the belief that creativity has the power to bring people together, strengthen communities, and help people discover gifts they may never have realized they possess.

So treat yourself to a day trip of exploration and discovery in Crockett. Pick up a raffle map, collect signatures from each store, then turn it in for a chance to win a store-wide prize package. One lucky winner takes home the entire collection.
