Wild Oakland Walks
Wild Oakland leads free, fun and educational guided environmental walks for busy urbanites.
They are a 100% volunteer organization, from the guiding committee to the walk leaders who donate their time because of a shared passion for ecology and education.
Lake Merritt is for the birds. Learn how the nation’s first wildlife refuge was created to protect birds, the history of the bird islands, and how the lake continues to offer a refuge for birds such as Hank, the injured White Pelican.
Al levels can enjoy birding. This walk will be led by Marissa Ortega-Welch, Eco-Education Coordinator for Golden Gate Audubon Society.
