Wild Oakland Walks
Wild Oakland leads free, fun and educational guided environmental walks for busy urbanites.
They are a 100% volunteer organization, from the guiding committee to the walk leaders who donate their time because of a shared passion for ecology and education.
Learn about the ecology and natural history of Lake Temescal, and also how to identify plants and the many migrating birds that will be around this time of year.
Your guide will be Ron Felzer, who has been teaching Biology and Environmental Studies at Merritt College since 1970. If you ask nicely, he’ll probably even tell you about Hayward Fault geology.
Meet at the South entrance parking area off Broadway Terrace. Bring water, binoculars, and field guides if you have them. This walk will be conducted rain or shine.
