Sausal Creek History | Wild Oakland Walks

Explore the urban and natural history of the wild Sausal Creek watershed before it joins Palo Seco creek in the hills.

Free, but an RSVP is required to info@WildOakland.org.

You’ll hike from Dimond Park along the areas that have been restored to the redwoods along Monterey Avenue near Highway 13. A walk up to the plant nursery may also be included, depending on how people are feeling.

Walk leader, Mark Rauzon, was a founding board member in 1996 for the Friends of Sausal Creek, the organization responsible for the restoration of this area, and is also a geography instructor at Laney College.
