Event Details

Take a break from last-minute shopping to experience the natural sounds, sights, smells, and colors of the season on the annual Winter Solstice hike.

Free, but an RSVP is required.

This year, take a colorful jaunt up White Canyon on Red Road Trail to Black Point in Mount Diablo State Park. Mistletoe, Christmas Berry, and Ghost Pine awaits along the trail.

Cost: $6 /vehicle park entrance fee ($5 for seniors; exact change required)
Weather policy: Rain cancels
What to Bring: Bring water, snacks and lunch, dress in layers and wear good hiking shoes. Bring poles if you normally use them. Sections of the trail are steep and rugged.
Where to meet: Meet at the Mitchell Canyon Visitor Center. There are restrooms and a water fountain near our meeting spot. (Map)
