Wood Shoppe is a free monthly music series at Brick & Mortar Music Hall taking place every first Tuesday of the month.

Get exposed to local and national emerging artists without the pressure of a cover charge.

Wood Shoppe lineup on April 1, 2014:

• Casey Dienel aka White Hinterland has taken the gloves off and knuckled down to produce a deep, dark, heady mix of songs. She forged a new aesthetic, spending five months building her own studio, The Glades, in her parents’ basement – the same space where she practiced piano and vocal lessons as a child.
• Bells Atlas emerges from the vibrant cultural and musical backdrop of Oakland, CA, made up of 4 musicians who each impart a unique and vibrant essence. Blending heavy percussion, soulful vocal harmonies, and thoughtful arrangements, this dynamic group has arrived at a sound that is uniquely their own, calling it Afro Indie Soul. 
• Pixel Memory pumps out a muscular beat, followed by a subterranean bassline. As the rhythm darts and ducks, an icy synthesizer plucks out a disorienting motif. Austin Fraser’s fingers tightly grip the knobs of his machines, giving the sounds life, cuing vocalist Lisa Greyson to step up to the microphone. Her lips unfurl an unearthly melody, full of dark emotion and desire.
