Odd Mondays is Noe Valley’s long-running reading series, now in its 15th year.
Word Week is Noe’s annual literary festival. Every year, they join forces to produce a literary event for the neighborhood.
This year, it’s Brandon Brown reading from his award-winning biography of Max Planck, the German physicist whose discoveries led the way for Albert Einstein and modern quantum physics.
But Planck’s life wasn’t just about physics. He lived through the Nazi era, protested their policies, and lost a son in a failed plot to kill Hitler. The London Times named Planck: Driven by Vision, Broken by War one of the best history books of 2015.
