SF’s Yerba Buena Gardens Festival 2026
The 2026 Yerba Buena Gardens Festival hosts a full lineup of free outdoor music, theater, circus, dance, poetry, and children’s programs. The Festival opens on Saturday, May 9, 2026 with Hermán Olivera y Orquesta Taíno to kick off its 26th season. The Festival features over 100 free performances from May to November in Downtown San Francisco.
Berkeley-reared, Juilliard-trained pianist, composer, activist and writer Samora Abayomi Pinderhughes gained international attention with the release of his searing 2016 debut album The Transformation Suite, a multimedia project that evolved in tandem with the national movement focusing on black lives cut short by violence. The New York-based composer returns to the Bay Area to present I’m Still Here, a concert combining pieces from his past works and excerpts from The Healing Project, a work in progress.
The concert encompasses an array of approaches, from intimate vocal moments to spoken word pieces to group improvisations. It’s a show about making space together to be vulnerable, to support each other, and to speak out on the injustices happening to us and around us.
