Wreckless Strangers will treat audiences to a mix of fan favorites and new tracks from their forthcoming album, Blue Sky Fantasy, produced by four-time GRAMMY Award-winning producer Dave Way (Aretha Franklin, Sheryl Crow, Tracy Chapman, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson) and available on September 27. The album celebrates San Francisco’s rich musical heritage, blending blues, R&B, Americana, and classic rock ‘n’ roll to create the group’s signature “Bay Area Gumbo” sound. Their latest single, “I Found A Way,” from the upcoming album, is now streaming on all major platforms. Listen here and watch here. Additionally, their second single, the inspiring anthem “Never Give Up,” is also out now. Listen here and watch here.
Wreckless Strangers is a collective of six friends and musicians carrying the torch for San Francisco’s grand rock ‘n’ roll tradition. Their unique stew of “Bay Area Gumbo” melds the contemporary blues stylings of Bonnie Raitt and Boz Scaggs, the songwriting sensibilities of Sons of Champlin and Fleetwood Mac, the swashbuckling Americana of the Lost Planet Airmen and Peter Rowan, and the funk of Sly Stone and Tower of Power with a dash of Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane for flavor and unpredictability. With soaring harmony vocals and burning instrumental improvisation framed in concise and poignant original songwriting, Wreckless Strangers seek to honor and carry forth the free-spirited musical fun and adventure that defines the Bay Area.
The band features Amber Morris on vocals; David Noble on lead guitar, vocals; Joshua Zucker on bass; Austin de Lone on keys, vocals; Mick Hellman on drums, vocals; and Rob Anderson on guitar. Band members have collaborated with renowned artists such as Elvis Costello, Bonnie Raitt, Miley Cyrus, Peter Rowan, Boz Scaggs, Fabulous Thunderbirds, and many more.
