Youth Zine Writing Workshop

Program Description:
This workshop series is designed for youth ages 10-18 as an opportunity for them to reflect on their personal experiences in the pandemic and feel empowered to creatively share their stories. Each class will have example zines for the youth to look at and discuss, creative prompts about the different elements of zines, and time for writing and creating. The series will take the youth all the way through the editing and publishing process. The course will culminate in the youth publishing of a collaborative zine anthology (a collection of creative work from multiple authors). Each youth will get a color printed and bound copy of the zine we create!

Program Costs:
The costs of the program include one professionally color printed and bound copy of the zine we produce per participant.

We use a sliding scale model for our programs so that we can make our classes affordable and redistribute resources. Please pay what you can!

$300 Sliding Scale High: For those who are employed, financially secure, have savings, and expendable income.

$250 Sliding Scale Medium-High: For those who are employed and can meet their essential and extra expenses comfortably.

$200 Sliding Scale Low-Medium: For those who can meet their daily costs comfortably as well as some extra expenses each month.

$150 Sliding Scale Low: For those who living paycheck to paycheck without much more for extra expenses each month.

$100 Low-Income Ticket: For those who are un/underemployed.

$80 For Black and Indigenous Youth of Color
