The Exploratorium hosts a free celebratory weekend for the museum’s 40th Anniversary. Admission is free and open to the public on both Saturday, November 7th and Sunday the 8th.
The Saturday celebration features a variety of unique and interesting events especially for the anniversary like Tom Noddy’s Bubble Magic (pictured), Cutting Ice Into One performance installation with a motorcycle, Behind-the-Scenes Tours, Science, Crafts, DIY Demos and Films.
Schedule of Events: Saturday, November 7, 2009:
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Bubble activities with Stirling Johnson, Brian Lawrence, and guest bubblologists
Location: Main Entrance Parking Lot10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Saturday Only) – Favorites from the Exploratorium’s media collection
Location: Phyllis Wattis Webcast Studio10 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Cow eye and brain dissections, electricity and laser demonstrations, and more with the Exploratorium Explainers
11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. – Bubble Magic performances with Tom Noddy
Location: McBean Theater11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Special behind-the-scenes, arts, and history tours of the museum
12 noon to 2 p.m. (Saturday Only) Cutting Ice Into One performance installation
Location: Skylight Area1 to 4 p.m. – Interactive activities with the Outreach Team
