2026 Update: We couldn’t find any indication that the Independence Day Celebration at Meek Estate Park is returning in 2026.
The free family event was held most recently in 2024, featuring tours of the historic Meek Mansion, live music, historic games and crafts, community booths, and picnic-friendly activities on the grounds. The celebration was not held in 2025 and has not been announced for 2026.
We’ll update this post if the Hayward Area Historical Society announces the event’s return.

Join us for a day of community celebration at Meek Park!
Get a peek inside this local landmark and learn more about Meek Family history. Enjoy historic games and crafts, patriotic activities, and local community booths. Bring a picnic and stay for the music of the Blues Bottle Band.
