aquarium 250x211 Aquarium of the Bay: Free Admission to SF Residents | Pier 39Celebrating its recent transition to nonprofit status, Aquarium of the Bay is kicking off the New Year by hosting free days for San Francisco residents, January 4-7, 2010. San Francisco residents who show valid identification will have the $15.95 admission fee waved be granted access to the Aquarium and introduced to its more than 60,000 underwater inhabitants.

To receive free admission, San Francisco residents must provide one of the following:
• Valid driver’s license or ID card, with San Francisco address
• Utility bill or bank statement that includes your name and home address (not a P.O. Box), along with identification card.

About Aquarium of the Bay: The 65,000 square foot facility features 300 feet of crystal clear acrylic tunnels holding over 700,000 gallons of filtered Bay water that is home to over 20,000 aquatic animals, including sharks, bat rays and skates.  New exhibits installed in April 2009 include an octopus exhibit, a jellies exhibit and PG&E Bay Lab, an interactive climate change exhibit.
