30th Annual Cable Car Carolers | Union Square Union Square hosts a roving band of nearly 75 carolers who arrive aboard a motorized cable car to bring holiday cheer and traditional Christmas songs in a 45-minute concert as part of a 3-hour tour of several locations throughout SF including Ghirardelli Square.

This annual event also features a full live dixieland band, complete wth banjo, xylophone and tuba.

Should you make a special trip to Union Square for this event?
Please note that this mini-concert is not amplified and it can be difficult to hear if you’re not up close. If you already find yourself in Union Square it could be a fun break from your shopping, but it might not be worth making a special trip as the music isn’t amplified and might be difficult to hear.
