Event Details

The Green Drive Expo is an opportunity for automotive companies to talk about and show you hands-on what the future of eco-friendly vehicles shows. Here’s a sampling of the day’s speakers:

12:00 – 12:30: Ed LaRocque (Toyota National Manager of Advanced Technology.) In 1997, Toyota introduced the iconic Prius gas-electric hybrid to the Japanese market. Now, it plans to introduce hybrid versions of many of its popular models, as well as plug-in hybrids and electric cars. Where is Toyota headed?

12:45 – 1:15: Gil Portalatin (Ford Hybrid Systems Applications Manager), speak about the part electrified vehicles will play in our transportation future and Ford’s strategy to deliver the next generation of hybrids and battery electrics to the market.

2:30 – 3:00: Damian Breen (Director, Strategic Incentives Division Bay Area Air Quality District) speaks about Consumer Incentives for Plug-in Cars. The federal government offers a $7,500 tax credit for consumer purchasing an electric car and some plug-in hybrids. California adds a $3,000 to $5,000 rebate and Bay Area agencies will make home chargers virtually free. Learn how to take advantage of these opportunities.
