Market and Powell, San Francisco
The 2014 countdown ceremony will feature Spencer Christian of ABC7 news as the emcee. The SF Ballet students will be there in full snowflake costumes and live music will be provided by the Clint Baker Jazz Band.
Mayor Ed Lee has not confirmed his attendance; however, he is expected to attend. General Manager of SF Public Utilities Commission Harlan Kelly Jr., and Director of Public Works Mohammed Nuru will have brief remarks before the official countdown. The countdown will be lead by the Mayor (hopefully), Mr. Kelly, Mr.Nuru, Spencer Christian and the ballerinas.
The Path of Gold lights that run the length of Market St. from Steuart to Castro streets were originally installed in 1916 and cast a distinctive amber glow on one of the city’s main thoroughfares. They’re lit through mid January.
