Spend your lunch with some laureates at the free Poets’ Picnic on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at the Benicia City Park Gazebo.

Meet Benicia’s new poet Laureate, Lois Requist and Poet Laureates from all over California, who serve their cities and counties by increasing the awareness and understanding of poetry, will come together along with their fellow poets for this open to the public afternoon of getting to know each other and sharing their work.

Poets are invited to bring poems to share with others on the grass as they picnic. A large playground is part of the park, and childcare supervision will be provided during the reading period.

Please bring cold picnic food to share, folding chairs, picnic blankets, hats and sunscreen.
