Condensed minority-culture brush-up! Placate your friends with all the stuff you learned about the Amazon, the women’s rights movement in Iran and more! Come to this free screening of four short documentaries from the National Geographic All Roads Film Festival.

  • Owners of the Water: Conflict and Collaboration over Rivers (35 min) Amazon Indians battle against devastating effects of soy cultivation.
  • Daughters of the Revolution (32 min) A portrait of Mehrangiz Kar, celebrated activists in the history of the women’s movement in Iran.
  • Earth Day in Attawapiskat (15 min) A brief look at the development of ancestral lands and environmental degradation.
  • Weaving the Wisdom (20 min) The 60 year old Columbian armed conflict and the struggle for control between the guerrilla, paramilitary and state forces.

After the screenings, at 12:40, there’ll be Q&A with “Owners of the Water” filmmaker Laura Graham.

Location: Once, you’ve entered the Main Branch of the Public Library, before you pass the security gate, head downstairs to the 200+ seat Koret Auditorium.
