Enter to win a pair of tickets to see the iconic, Squeeze & Boy George, on stage live for their Summer Tour at Oakland’s Fox Theater. Don’t miss this opportunity to be captivated by their unforgettable music once more!

Squeeze, celebrating their fiftieth anniversary with an international tour, has been a vital institution in rock since its formation in 1973. Known for their vibrantly melodic and perceptive songs, primarily written by Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, Squeeze earned early acclaim with hits like Up the Junction, Cool for Cats, Another Nail in My Heart, and Tempted, leading to comparisons with Lennon and McCartney. The band’s lineup has evolved over the years, but Difford and Tilbrook remained constants, collaborating with notable musicians like Jools Holland and John Cale. Squeeze’s influential albums, including Cool for Cats, Argybargy, and East Side Story, established them as leaders in the New Wave movement. The band’s achievements include performing at prestigious venues like Madison Square Garden and participating in major festivals like Glastonbury. They have also been recognized with awards such as the Ivor Novello Award for Difford and Tilbrook’s songwriting. After several hiatuses, they returned in the 2010s with Cradle to the Grave and The Knowledge, showcasing their enduring appeal. The current lineup, featuring members like Owen Biddle and Melvin Duffy, continues to honor Squeeze’s legacy with new music, including the Food for Thought charity EP in 2022.

Boy George and Culture Club became iconic in the 1980s New Romantic scene, achieving international fame with hits like Karma Chameleon and Do You Really Want to Hurt Me, selling over 150 million records worldwide. The band won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1984 and made history with multiple Top 10 hits in the US. After Culture Club disbanded in 1986, Boy George launched a successful solo career and released nine studio albums. He also ventured into theater with the musical Taboo, earning a Tony Award nomination, and became a popular DJ. In recent years, Boy George reunited with Culture Club for tours, released new music, and participated in TV shows like The Voice UK and “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” His contributions to art and music, including the album “LIFE” and his visual artwork, continue to resonate globally.
