Please note, we believe the Piedmont Avenue Stroll is no longer taking place

At the Piedmont Avenue Stroll you can expect to see a variety of art mediums, enjoy entertainment, and sample refreshments with many businesses showcasing hand-picked local artists and designers.

The monthly event was voted Best Art Walk That’s Not Art Murmur by the East Bay Express, so come out to see what the fuss is all about. Admission and parking are free, and plentiful throughout the area after 6 pm.

Every month features a slew of art openings, musical performances and other special treats. Check out their Facebook page to plan your night.

On the night of the event, pick up a map at participating businesses. Collect a stamp from ten participating businesses and be eligible to win raffle prizes — including gift certificates and fun merchandise.

Acme House of Music will be hosting several performers for August’s Piedmont Stroll:

  • Lauren Hulbert can be found performing around the Bay Area always with her acoustic guitar, sometimes her electric and if you are lucky the piano. Her style can be described as indie folk rock, acoustic, no fancy effects, just raw and authentic. Lauren’s sultry, warm voice and wide variety of songs allows her music to transcend genres and attract even the most selective of listeners. Her songs, heartfelt and manifestly poetic, illuminate upon the bittersweet essence of the human condition, where love, pain and beauty are intricately interwoven into our everyday lives. Lauren teaches piano, guitar, and ukulele at Acme House of Music. Steve Moriarty, of the former Seattle punk band The Gits, has accompanied her on drums for the last year and also teaches at Acme.
  • Alejandro and Maria are from Peru and are a guitar and vocal duo. They have toured all around the world and are currently in the middle of a U.S. tour. They are both song writers and between them have issued a couple of albums of original material which were well received.

Oluyemi Thomas is getting ready for Thursday nights jam session at 41st & Piedmont Ave.
