$1 Film & Flipbook Animation Class | Oakland

Rock Paper Scissors Collective in Oakland hosts a Beginning Animation class on Thursday, February 24th.

This class series will cover a brief history of animation, creation of flipbooks, Zoetropes and other precursors of film animation, techniques of traditional film stop-motion animation and 2-D computer animation, story creation using storyboards, cards, outlines through shooting script creation.

Drawing and paper materials for flipbooks and Zoetropes will be provided as well as Super 8 film cameras, editors and a projector for instruction and labs in stop-motion film animation. A limited quantity of film for demonstration purposes will be provided free of charge.

Class fee: $1.00 to $10 sliding fee per class session.
Students will pay a materials fee of $30.00 for their own film and developing if they wish to pursue creation of a traditional film.
