100 Foot Tall Film Night | The Great Wall of Oakland

For special events, and on select first Fridays during Oakland Art Murmur, the Great Wall of Oakland, a 100 ′x 100′ projection installation, illuminates the Uptown District with cutting-edge motion art from around the world.

The Great Wall of Oakland is located at the corner of Broadway and West Grand Avenue in downtown Oakland.

Bay Flicks Youth Film Festival | 100 Foot Tall Film Night | The Great Wall of Oakland

The first ever large-scale film festival just for Bay Area Youth is happening on the 100′ Great Wall of Oakland on January 31, 2014.

Bay Area filmmakers and video creators aged 13-19 years were invited to submit their films under 7 minutes in length and appropriate for all ages.

The top two films in each of the following categories will be screened:

• All Ages Casting – Include an actor over 50 years of age
• Animation – Highlight an animation technique (excluding 3D animation)
• Documentary – Present facts about a person, event or location
• Music Video – Highlight a song/music as well as moving imagery
• Sports Video – Feature an action sport or other outdoor adventure activity
• 3-D animation – Utilize a 3D animation technique
• Special Effects – Include a pyrotechnic, vertigo or other exciting special effect
• Time Jump  – Narrative in nature and include a time jump to the future or past
• Purely Visual – Feature visually stunning, dynamic imagery

If there is a chance of rain, the festival will be rescheduled.
