100 Foot Tall Film Night | The Great Wall of Oakland

For special events, and on select first Fridays during Oakland Art Murmur, the Great Wall of Oakland, a 100 ′x 100′ projection installation, illuminates the Uptown District with cutting-edge motion art from around the world.

The Great Wall of Oakland is located at the corner of Broadway and West Grand Avenue in downtown Oakland.

Mobile Arts Platform (MAP) and the Great Wall of Oakland present a series of films that approach and critique the changing landscapes of Oakland.

The film focuses on subjects such as gentrification, historical documentation and preservation, and the vibrancy and beauty of our city. Mobile Arts Platform will also facilitate a conversation between The Anti-Eviction Mapping Project, Prelinger Archives, and Shayyan Ahmad + Santana Bellas of “The Gentrification of Oakland.”

  • 2044 International Blvd (Ariel Appel, 2016)
  • The 54 (Richard Koci Hernandez, 2009)
  • History in These Streets (BAVC, 2012)
